Annapolis, MD- With three wins and only one loss so far into the 2012 season, the Bayhawks are preparing on and off the field to face the Outlaws on June 2nd at Denver. Chesapeake swept the floor with the Nationals in Hamilton and brought home a twenty to seven win before the bye week and are geared up to put on a repeat performance in Denver. Having scored 64 goals so far in the only the first four games of the season, the Bayhawks are on fire and are ready to challenge the Outlaws.
If the Bayhawks are able to start fast and finish strong like how they did against the Nationals on May 18th, they should not have any problems with the Outlaws. A key player in the Nationals game who will continue to become an important factor for the Bayhawks is attackeman John Grant, Jr. Grant was able to provide seven points for the Bayhawks that night alongside midfielder Michael Kimmel who provided eight points. Kimmel once stated that “John Grant is one of the greatest players of all-time. You can see heads turning on defense whenever he has the ball.” If Grant and Kimmel, along with fellow attackmen Drew Westervelt and Danny Glading and defensemen Brian Spallina and Nicky Polanco, all play like how they did against the Nationals- Denver will not stand a chance against Chesapeake.
The match-ups between these two teams will be sure to lead to a good game. The Outlaws are just coming off a ten to seventeen loss to the Boston Cannons, which opens the opportunity for the Bayhawks to capitalize on Denver’s mistakes from their loss.
Head coach Dave Cottle stated about his team during the during the Nationals game, “I thought our transition game was terrific. We did a great job of running from defense to offense.” If the Bayhawks can continue this run and keep the intensity level high, they will be able to show the Outlaws what they are made of and what it takes to win a game.
With the great level of talent that each team possesses, it will be sure to be a great game and definitely a game to tune into. Tune into Comcast Sports Net at 10:30pm on Saturday to watch the Bayhawks take on the Outlaws.
