Turner was selected by the Bayhawks with the 13th pick in the 2011 MLL Expansion Draft. He has a record of 17-13 with the Bayhawks.
Turner was selected second overall by the Boston Cannons in the 2007 MLL Collegiate Draft. He played in 37 games with the Cannons from 2007-2011, and boasted a record of 18-10, and a goals against average of 13.55 and a save percentage of .533, while recording 469 saves. He was also a two-time MLL Defensive Player of the Week, and was the 2010 Warrior Goalkeeper of the Year. In 2011 he helped the Cannons to the MLL Championship.
Turner played college lacrosse at the University of Virginia. He played in 49 games, recording 412 saves and 147 ground balls, and carrying a save percentage of .568 and a goals against average of 7.51. He was the team's Defensive MVP in 2006, and was named All-ACC and All-American in 2007. He is currently ranked 10th in UVA history in saves.
Turner was a goalie in lacrosse, hockey, and soccer at The Severn School in Severna Park, Maryland. He was the team MVP in both lacrosse and hockey, and was a four year starter and All-Conference winner in hockey and lacrosse. In lacrosse, he was named All-State, All-Met, and 2 time All-County, as well as a Freestate and Top 205 All-Star. Kip also earned may academic awards while at Severn.
Turner was born on December 12, 1984, to Ellen and Leigh Turner in Annapolis, Maryland. In the summers, he runs many lacrosse camps in Bethesda, Maryland. His favorite food is a southern-style pork BBQ sandwich with hush puppies and coleslaw. He enjoys golf, tennis, and surfing, as well as spending time with his golden retriever, Simone. Kip's favorite sports teams are the Baltimore Ravens, Baltimore Orioles and Washington Capitals. And finally, if he could have anyone play him in a movie, it would be Mark Wahlberg.
